Ingelectus has been honoured at the 3rd eCity+ Awards, held on 1 July in Seville, for the roll-out of its InGrid Platform at the Cartuja Science and Technology Park (PCT Cartuja).
These awards form part of the eCitySevilla project, a public-private partnership led by the Regional Government of Andalusia, Seville City Council, PCT Cartuja and Endesa. They recognise five initiatives that have actively contributed to meeting the challenge of turning PCT Cartuja into the first sustainable, renewable and digital urban environment by the end of 2025.
In this context, the InGrid Platform developed by Ingelectus offers a suite of applications that enable monitoring, diagnostics and operation across electricity networks.
As a pilot project, this tool has been implemented on Endesa’s distribution network on the Isla de la Cartuja. This has given the utility a detailed and accurate view of network capacity, which is essential to achieving the eCitySevilla project’s objectives in terms of connecting photovoltaic generation and promoting electric mobility.
Daniel Morales Wagner, CEO of Ingelectus, expressed his gratitude for this recognition and highlighted in his speech the importance of smart grids in the energy transition: “The eCitySevilla project is fully aligned with Ingelectus’ mission and vision. The integration of InGrid into eCity has represented a significant step forward in the management of the park. With this move, we have got ahead of the 2030 Agenda.”
The event, held at the Pabellón de la Navegación on the Isla de la Cartuja, was attended by the Regional Minister for University, Research and Innovation of the Regional Government of Andalusia, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos; the Third Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Cartuja, Innovation Parks, Employment, Economy, Trade and Consumer Affairs of Seville City Council, Álvaro Pimentel; the General Manager of the Cartuja Science and Technology Park (PCT Cartuja), Luis Pérez Díaz; Endesa’s Director for Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla, Rafael Sánchez Durán; and the Managing Director of the Andalusian Energy Agency, Natalia Márquez García.
Gómez Villamandos underlined “the importance of making this science and technology park an urban laboratory, where the latest technologies in the field of sustainability can be tested”, while pointing to innovation as a priority for both the Andalusian Government and PCT Cartuja.
