Ingelectus attended the 2024 session of the CIGRE international congress, which took place at the Palais des Congrès in Paris (France) from 25 to 30 August.
Held every two years, CIGRE is one of the most important global events on electrical systems, with almost 1,200 posters and numerous workshops and tutorials presented, as well as extensive participation from the main players in the sector.
Daniel Morales Wagner, CEO of Ingelectus, and Iván Fernández Valencia, engineer specialising in smart grids, travelled to the French city to learn about the latest developments in the sector, acquire new knowledge and establish and strengthen key relationships within the global energy community.
Morales and Fernández attended various activities of interest, such as a workshop on the aggregation of battery energy storage and distributed energy resources, and a workshop on the book Power Systems Dynamic Modelling and Analysis in Evolving Networks, in which the authors aim to compile standard procedures and methodologies for modelling and analysing events in electrical power systems.
This conference has helped us to identify key trends and draw conclusions that will undoubtedly assist Ingelectus in its development. We discussed, for example, how control algorithms will be key to enabling the functionalities expected from the connection of renewables or storage through power electronics, or that, in the near future, 50% of generation will be able to be connected to the distribution network, which is a challenge for DSOs (Distribution System Operators),” said Morales.
The CEO of Ingelectus also highlighted that the experience at CIGRE has been enriching in all aspects, and therefore the company intends to participate in future editions of this internationally renowned biannual conference.
