At the end of November, we held an event to celebrate our tenth anniversary working on the research and development of innovative solutions across all areas of the power sector. The auditorium of the Marie Curie Tech-Incubator — located in the Cartuja Technology Park (Seville), where our headquarters are also based — hosted the celebration, where we were able to gather with all our colleagues.
During the ceremony, we were able to thank public and private entities for all the support they have given us over the years, as well as share the company’s growth prospects. But how have we contributed to the sector during this time?

We have helped, through our services, to obtain grid connection permits for more than one hundred renewable plants, mainly in Spain and Mexico, as well as in various countries in the Americas, Europe and Oceania.

We have helped Red Eléctrica de España (REE) to commission the AC submarine cable linking Ibiza and Mallorca. Our contribution was to supply and commission the controlled switching relays for the cable breakers, with the technical support of our partner Vizimax.

We currently control 2.5 GW of photovoltaic, wind and hybrid plants with our Renewable Power Plant Controller (PPC) technology in Spain, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Chile. We will soon reach 4.4 GW.

In projects such as DT4Flex or Enigma, we are researching how to help provide flexibility to the national power grid so that it can integrate self-consumption systems without jeopardising supply quality for other customers.
This series of milestones encourages us to keep working on further innovative projects. Our technology has helped to drive the energy transition in the renewable energy and smart grid sectors.
The event, opened by Daniel Morales Wagner — CEO of Ingelectus — also featured the participation of several representatives from entities that are part of the company’s DNA.
Luis Pérez, General Director of the Cartuja Science and Technology Park, spoke as host of PCT Cartuja and highlighted the park’s commitment to companies like ours. He also underlined the importance of the connection between science, the city and people.
Esperanza Caro, Director of the Municipal Companies Corporation of Seville, represented Seville City Council’s commitment to PCT Cartuja as an incubator for technology companies. “It is not easy for ideas to become reality, and for those realities to endure over time,” remarked Esperanza Caro, emphasising the value we have contributed to PCT Cartuja over these years.
Felipe Rosa, Vice-Rector for Knowledge Transfer at the University of Seville, explained the role of the Vice-Rectorate for Knowledge Transfer, which is key to the creation of Knowledge-Based Companies at the University of Seville, and he referred to us as one of the leading examples in Andalusia.
Meanwhile, Pablo Cortés, from the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, highlighted how innovation enables us to differentiate ourselves from other companies — something we at Ingelectus work on through our different products and services.
To close the event, Antonio Gómez Expósito, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Seville and founding partner of Ingelectus, wrapped up the ceremony by sharing the founders’ vision for Ingelectus.
Ten years improving the deployment of renewable energies and smart grids through knowledge and technology
Over this past decade, at Ingelectus we have contributed to the sector with a wide range of innovative services and products applied to the field of renewable energy and the power sector. Products focused on grid control and monitoring, such as our Renewable Power Plant Controller (PPC) or the Ingrid application suite, are just some examples.
In addition, we take part in numerous R&D projects to remain at the cutting edge of knowledge. Companies such as REE, Ormazabal, Endesa, Acciona and Cuerva are just some of our regular partners.
We were born within the University of Seville as a spin-off whose partners belong to the Department of Electrical Engineering — one of the most important research groups in Spain, with significant international reach — which means we are also closely linked to research. This connection allows us to stay at the forefront of research and innovation in the solutions we offer, combining R&D&I projects with product development and consultancy services.
Over these ten years we have also seen our team grow. It is now made up of 14 employees, including electrical, telecommunications, IT and energy engineers, with cross-cutting skills in software development, data analytics and modelling, as well as specialisation in new technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and microservices. We are also members of the Cartuja Business Circle and the Smart City Cluster, and we participate in the eCity Sevilla project, which is being developed at PCT Cartuja.
Along the way, we have also become official distributors and technical support providers for Vizimax products, a Canadian company specialised in controlled switching devices for electrical equipment.
All this journey has brought us to where we are today: celebrating ten years of growth in the renewable energy sector and deploying innovative electrical solutions for the 21st century. Let’s keep growing together.
